Chinese Dish with Fried Vegetables

Plain Boiled Rice

Plain Boiled Rice




  • 2 cup of rice (most common is American long grain)
  • Same amount of water
  • ½ tsp of vegetable oil


How to cook

  • Wash and rinse rice thoroughly.
  • Place rice into saucepan and add water.
  • Bring to boil, add oil.
  • Reduce heat to very low, cover and cook for a further 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat but keeping pan covered, leave to stand for approx. 10 minutes.
  • Loosen rice and serve.


Remember safety in the kitchen, never leave heating oil unattended
